JOHN BATTER
General Manager, Electronic Arts Mobile

As Vice President, EA Mobile, John Batter is spearheading EA’s mobile games business – a key global initiative for the company’s growth. Prior to this, Mr. Batter served as Vice President and General Manager of Electronic Arts Los Angeles (EALA), where he oversaw all aspects of the studio that develops games in the Medal of Honor, Command & Conquer, Lord of The Rings and GoldenEye series. Before taking of the reigns at EALA, Mr. Batter was General Manager of Electronic Arts Redwood Shores. He is credited with leading a turnaround of the studio, where he was involved in the development of several global blockbusters, including James Bond, Lord of The Rings, Knockout Kings, Freekstyle and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR.

Before joining EA, Mr. Batter was a senior executive of DreamWorks’ computer animation division (PDI), the group that produced such animated hits as Antz and Shrek. Earlier, he was a senior executive and part of the start-up management team for DreamWorks Interactive, a joint venture between DreamWorks and Microsoft.

Previous to DreamWorks, Mr. Batter was CFO for Xatrix Entertainment, and before that he held a variety of management positions in business development and planning with the Times Mirror Company.

Mr. Batter began his career with Kaypro Computer Corporation serving in a variety of positions, including Director of Strategic Planning and General Manager of Kaypro Europe.

Mr. Batter earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley. He has also sat on the Board of Directors for the Los Angeles Regional Technology Alliance (LARFTA).
