As a Senior Analyst in Jupiter Research's Access & Technologies group, Horwitz focuses on the role of video games in electronic mass communications and media. In his research, Horwitz examines a diverse range of technologies and their business implications. His core coverage areas include video games and personal technologies, with numerous topics including multi-user networked applications, game consoles, media standards, development environments. His opinion is regularly sought by The New York Times, BusinessWeek, The Globe and Mail, and The Washington Post. Horwitz joined Jupiter Research at the beginning of 2000 where he helped lead research in Jupiter's coverage of next-generation game consoles. Prior to his return to Jupiter Research in 2004, he worked on research projects with the RAND Corporation and the Software Industry Center at Carnegie Mellon University, and taught Applied Econometrics while completing his MSc. in Technology & Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon's Heinz School. Horwitz also holds a B.A. in Economics and Visual Arts from Columbia University.
