Dan Scherlis is CEO of Etherplay, mobile game developers and consultants. Dan recently directed content strategy for Comverse Mobile Entertainment. As CEO of Turbine Entertainment, he produced massively multiplayer online games for Microsoft Game Studios (Asheron’s Call) and partnered with Sega and Sony. Previously, Dan established the game-publishing arm for Papyrus Design (now within Vivendi Entertainment) and produced IndyCar Racing. He also created new online publications for Ziff-Davis Interactive/AT&T Interchange, and led a market-analysis team at HBO.

Dan is Contributing Editor for Mobile Entertainment Analyst, and is an Associate of MTGP, a strategic advisory group for digital media/technology ventures. He serves on the Mobile Entertainment Forum’s U.S. steering committee, and on advisory boards for digital content companies.

A regular speaker at E3 Expo, Game Developers Conference (GDC), and MIT Enterprise Forum, Dan has also presented at Korea’s Global Games Conference, MCLE (Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education), Harvard Business School’s Cyberposium, and several mobile-entertainment conferences. He has guest-lectured at MIT, Boston University Law School, Northeastern’s Business School, and at Boston College.

Dan holds AB, AM (Linguistics), and MBA degrees from Harvard. He was a Teaching Fellow, Computer Science at Harvard College, and an Associates Fellow at Harvard Business School.
